Jamaica is an incredibly beautiful country with a rich and lively history and culture and its diversity of landscapes, flora and fauna is unrivaled in the Caribbean.

Say “Jamaica” and what likely comes to mind is Reggae, Usain Bolt, Rastas, lush vegetation and white sand beaches.

But Jamaica is so much more.

It is an incredibly beautiful country with a rich and lively history and culture.

Its diversity of landscapes, flora and fauna is unrivaled in the Caribbean.

From the wet limestone forests of the uninhabited, mysterious John Crow Mountains in the east to the silver-white beaches of western Jamaica, there is much to admire and enjoy.

The sun-filled, laid-back south coast offers a dry savannah-like landscape around Treasure Beach; numerous coastal cays and islands in the Portland Bight; brackish coastal ponds, salt marshes and the largest wetlands in the Caribbean, the Black River Lower Morass.

The Blue Mountains are just a short drive away from the busy city of Kingston, but a completely different, magical world of tree ferns, mosses, wild orchids and unique bird life.

We shall take a Caribbean Birding Trail tour to some of these beautiful areas and explore all that is authentic Jamaica, focusing especially on the amazing bird life of the country, including 29 endemics.
