Have you ever wondered… Why students can play difficult repertoire and are not be able to play “Happy Birthday” without music?
Why many adults, after years of study, can only play a few pieces that they learned in high school?
Why do creating and improvising seem impossible to many students who can read music?
The answer: These students have not learned how to ‘audiate’ – to think musically.
In How Children Learn Music, Marilyn Lowe will discuss how children learn to audiate and the importance of audiation for formal music instruction and a lifelong enjoyment of music.
How Children Learn Music is perfect for parents, music teachers, and private music instructors interested in learning how children develop the ability to perform, create, and read music in the mind with understanding.
Marilyn Lowe holds degrees from Knox College and Indiana University.
She studied piano under Menahem Pressler and continued study in the music theory doctoral program.
She currently presents workshops and teaches certification courses internationally.
Her audiation-based piano method, Music Moves for Piano, is printed world-wide.
Please RSVP to rsvpmarilynlowe@bmsmusic.org by August 4.
Marilyn Lowe will also be teaching the Music Moves for Piano Professional Development Levels Course:
