From the beauty of the Northern lights and the mountain vistas of Denali to the drama of grizzly bears and eagles catching fish, there was much to see on land.
Some experiences, such as the departure of the sandhill cranes on their long migration south, were particularly unusual.
In the ocean, breaching humpback whales and humorous puffins put on shows, while the adorable Northern sea otters floated in the kelp avoiding predators like an orca mother and her calf.
