Tracking Trash: Flotsam, Jetsam and the Science of Ocean Motion. Sunday Family Program by Loree Griffin Burns at the Harvard Museum of Natural History.

For years, oceanographers have used drifting objects to study ocean movement. Join author Loree Griffin Burn as she tells the story of real scientists who track the trash spilled into the ocean --from sneakers to rubber ducks that have drifted thousands of miles from the Pacific Ocean across the Arctic and into the Atlantic. Find out what they’ve discovered – and how they’re using this scientific data to better understand and protect Earth’s oceans.
