In celebration of Black History Month, the New England Aquarium Lecture Series presents archaeologist and Diving with a Purpose Founding Board Member and Lead Instructor Jay Haigler.

Haigler’s talk will spotlight Diving with a Purpose (DWP), an international non-profit organization that promotes maritime archeology and ocean conservation by documenting and protecting African slave-trade shipwrecks.

DWP provides education and training programs, mission leadership, and project support services for submerged heritage preservation and conservation projects worldwide with a focus on the African Diaspora.

Haigler will share the powerful story of Clotilda—the last known slave ship to enter America.

This New England Aquarium Lecture Series event is free to the public and presented in partnership with the Lowell Institute.

Advance registration is required.

Please note: Virtual registration closes at 2:00 p.m. on February 15.
