You will learn self-care maintenance techniques that are valuable for athletes participating in any sport that involves running, or demanding extensive leg work. Learn how to discover and maintain pain free running. Increase your range-of-motion, flexibility and muscle strength. Balance muscles to prevent injuries. Quickly reduce muscle soreness, fatigue and pain. Speed healing from muscle injury and overuse. Learn how to guarantee fewer future injuries and avoid re-injuries.
Learn Active Isolated Stretching and STAR Stretching. With these techniques you will be able to train harder and longer and get better results. Discover which foods ease pain and aid healing and recovery, and which foods slow recovery and healing and make pain worse.
This is a hands-on, participation workshop. Dress to do a workout. The workshop includes take-home printed information of the material covered in class, with illustrations.
Instructor, Barry Bailey, MS, LMT has been teaching stretching workshops since 1998. He has worked full time as a Massage Therapist since 1992 and specializes in pain relief treatments using movement and stretching. He teaches weekly Active Stretching Classes at the STAR Tech Healing and Learning Center, and at the Swimfit/Harvard Ridge Athletic Club. He also teaches Active Stretching with the Acton-Boxborough Community Education Program.

Nason Street is the one block in Downtown Maynard that is Route 62 West. The Learning Center is located in the tallest building on the right hand side of the street. Parking is available on the street and in lots behind the building and across the street from the building.
