A special exhibit featuring stamps both about Dr. King and other great African-Americans will be on display.
Children can do stamp activities including making their own collection of stamps from the US Black Heritage series and do stamp scavenger hunts for prizes, make stamp puzzles and search in the Museum's two-cent stamp boxes.
Children can also design their own Dr. King stamps to display in the Museum's main gallery. Several arts and crafts activities with stamps will also be available. Children can have their photo made into a stamp and create unique envelopes to send letters to friends. The postage will be free.
In addition, each family will receive a packet of stamps, a Dr. King US commemorative stamp, and a Black Heritage First Day Cover. A booklet about how to start a stamp collection will also be available.
The Museum gift shop and official US Post Office will also be open.
Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and $3 for children (ages 5 -16). Library passes are accepted. Both the gift shop and US Post Office will be open. Members are free.
Children can also become free members of the Museum's Kids Club and receive stamps every month.
