From ninth-century ships to pleasure craft of today and everything in between, the show includes exquisite, handcrafted vessels of many kinds made by skilled Modelers representing Master Craftsmen and introducing a new generation of modelers.
Meet the modelers and vote for your favorite! Master Craftsmen will be available to answer questions and demonstrate the craft. Attendees can also participate in a scavenger hunt as a fun way to learn more about each model and their real-life counterparts.
Ship modeling is an art as old as shipbuilding itself and one for which USS Constitution has been a favored subject. The craft provides a glimpse into vessels’ remarkable history and intentional design through a process that reveals much about the original shipbuilder’s intentions and considerations.
The USS Constitution Model Shipwright Guild encourages the art of constructing model ships and supports research in nautical history, maintaining a working model shop at the Museum.
