In celebration of its 150th anniversary, the Museum is hosting a free day on February 5, inviting the community to sign up for free first-year memberships, explore highlights of the global collection, and join a celebratory moment with Matthew Teitelbaum, Ann and Graham Gund Director, Riley the Museum Dog and MFA staff.
Free Admission All Day
Admission will be free from 10 am to 10 pm. Throughout the day, visitors can drop in on 'MFA Journey' tours to learn more about the Museum's 15-decade history of collecting art from all over the world (including tours in Spanish at 6:30 pm and with ASL interpretation at 7 and 8 pm).
Additional activities include the Artist Toolbox Cart (5:30–8:30 pm) and Drawing in the Galleries (6–9 pm).
A celebratory moment will take place at 6 pm, with sweet treats; remarks by Teitelbaum and representatives from longtime MFA partner Bank of America; a performance by Darcy Kuronen, Pappalardo Curator of Musical Instruments; and a special appearance by Riley the Museum Dog.
Free First Year Memberships
The celebration will also offer an opportunity for visitors to sign up for a free first-year membership—an invitation for all to make the MFA their own.
Additional signup opportunities throughout 2020 will include all of the Museum's 11 community celebrations and MFA Late Nites. Existing MFA members can enjoy double discounts on retail and dining on February 5, as well as double free admission throughout the anniversary year.
