Worcester is known as the “birthplace of American rocketry,” with the impact that Worcester native Robert Goddard, engineer and physicist who successfully created and launched the first liquid-fueled rocket in Auburn in 1926. He is honored for many of the developments to make spaceflight possible, particularly his quest to put a man on the moon.
The EcoTarium museum of science and nature joined with the Worcester Historical Museum to host an open planning meeting earlier this week to put together a timeline of Goddard-inspired activities for the year.
So, come awaken your curiosity with telescope viewing, planetarium demonstrations, and plenty of late-night learning facilitated by EcoTarium educators, community partners, and NASA Solar System Ambassadors.
