The Rivers School Conservatory in Weston will be presenting a free “Instrument Petting Zoo” at the brand-new Bradley Hall on Sunday, January 11, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The event serves as an opportunity for interested children to try out a variety of string, wind, brass and percussion instruments and meet faculty members at the Conservatory. Attendees will also be able to watch brief student performances from members of the Conservatory throughout the afternoon.

Available instruments at the event include trumpet, French horn, violin, viola, cello, bass, piano, voice, trombone, guitar, flute, clarinet, oboe and more. The “Petting Zoo” is appropriate for children ages 4 and older, and will also feature refreshments.

Founded in 1975, The Rivers School Conservatory is one of the nation’s leading community music conservatories and has grown to over 750 students, including a dynamic orchestra program, jazz and chamber ensembles, choruses, workshops, and private lessons on every orchestral and jazz instrument, piano and voice.
