The event serves as an opportunity for interested children to try out a variety of string, wind, brass and percussion instruments and meet faculty members at the Conservatory. Attendees will also be able to watch brief student performances from members of the Conservatory throughout the afternoon.
Available instruments at the event include trumpet, French horn, violin, viola, cello, bass, piano, voice, trombone, guitar, flute, clarinet, oboe and more. The “Petting Zoo” is appropriate for children ages 4 and older, and will also feature refreshments.
Founded in 1975, The Rivers School Conservatory is one of the nation’s leading community music conservatories and has grown to over 750 students, including a dynamic orchestra program, jazz and chamber ensembles, choruses, workshops, and private lessons on every orchestral and jazz instrument, piano and voice.

From the south:
Route 95/Route 128 to Route 9 West. Follow Route 9 in Wellesley for about 4.1 miles to Weston Road Exit. Turn right onto Weston Road at the bottom of the ramp. Follow Weston Road .8 of a mile to Bogle Street. Turn left onto Bogle Street. Follow Bogle Street to stop sign at Winter Street. Take a left onto Winter Street, travel about 50 yards, then take a right to enter campus.
From the north:
Route 95/Route 128 to Exit 24. Turn left onto Route 30 (going West). Travel 2.2 miles to the third set of lights and turn left onto Wellesley Street (towards Wellesley). Travel 2 miles and turn right onto Bogle Street. Follow to stop sign at Winter Street. Take a left onto Winter Street, travel about 50 yards, then take a right to enter campus.
