Jazz Pianist Kevin Harris plays a distinctive combination of traditional and contemporary music. The native Kentuckian’s compositions and arrangements vary from explosive polyrhythmic pieces to introspective ballads. His music contains the varied influences of Marcus Roberts, Chopin, Keith Jarrett, Danilo Perez, and Thelonious Monk.

Committed to the community and to getting kids involved in music, Kevin has also conducted instrumental improvisation clinics (K-12) in public and private schools throughout the nation and in Saint Thomas, Virgin Islands. A typical educational performance of Harris’ involves interacting with the audience; he thrives on communication. 'Participation,' he says, 'is what keeps our souls alive.'

Brookline Music School students may participate in the class, while the public enjoys the music and educational components of the class. Entrance is free and all ages are welcome.
