Boston Musica Viva continues the celebration of its 40th anniversary with its 17th Annual Family Concert. Audiences of all ages will enjoy three narrated works for chamber ensemble including a special version of Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf.
BMV is proud of its longstanding tradition of commissioning new works for young audiences that combine the talents of accomplished young performers and the professional musicians of BMV.
Derek Jacoby carries on this tradition with 'The Emperor’s New Clothes,' a piece based on the Hans Christian Andersen tale that features the beautifully trained Marimba Magic percussion ensemble. These talented young people will also perform the first work written for Marimba Magic and BMV, Andy Vores’s 'Vanishing Cream,' which tells the story of a young boy who “rubs out” his family but soon discovers he can’t live without them. Rounding out the program is the classic work about another “bad boy,” Prokofiev’s 'Peter and the Wolf,' in a special chamber ensemble version. The brilliant Steve Aveson narrates all three works.

Brilliant Narration
You suggested that the 'Brilliant Steve Aveson' would be narrating
the Family concert. You were correct! Wow!
What great musicians, including the kids from Marimba Magic. Dick Pitman is a gift to Boston and.....the narration was as advertised. Bravo Steve Aveson and Boston Musica Viva!RELATED LINKS | ↑ top |
