FeedbackThis was my first Ben Rudnick event ...and I've never listened to his music. I brought my 5 year old and 2 year old boys. They really enjoyed the music...as did I. It was more sophisticated music than we usually listen to (as far as kids music goes anyway) with really quick, witty lyrics, a sax, three types of guitars and drums. The music was fun and catchy. They also showed a new video of one of the songs on their new cd. It was really fun to watch! The band couldn't have been more friendly and approachable. They really offered a nice small-town appeal to me.
Unfortunately the event was really poorly attended. I expected it to be pretty full, but there were probably only about 50 people there, adults and kids included. I can't imagine why. Given the skill of the band, I would expect a bigger following. But, it is vacation week, so perhaps people were out of town.
The venue was also not my favorite. It was in a theater, and therefore was rows of chairs. The kids wanted to get up and dance, but in order to do so, you had to dance in the aisles, which they were a bit too timid to do.
Other than the venue, I highly recommend other events by Ben Rudnick and Friends. I ended up leaving with two cds!
