Congregation Kehillah Israel (KI) of Brookline, located in the Coolidge Corner area on Harvard Street, announced that its annual A Cappella Fest is returning for its 4th year, bigger and better than ever! Now a 2-day event, the successful tradition continues with 12 groups performing at KI on Saturday night, plus a new family-oriented Sunday morning performance added at Congregation Mishkan Tefila in Newton.
The Saturday night Brookline concert will once again mainly feature leading college groups plus more such as ones from Berklee, Brandeis, Brown, BU, Gann, Harvard, UMass, as well as Zamir Chorale of Boston's Chamber Singers, whereas Sunday's Newton concert will bring performers from Elementary School to Post-College from Schechter, MIT, Harvard, JCDS, Temple Emanuel, DeScribe and Diwon.
Tickets for each concert are $15, with all proceeds to benefit Ethiopian Early Childhood Education in Haifa, as well as The Mitzvah Heroes Fund ($2 suggested charity donation from children for Sunday's concert) and may be purchased online at www.cjp.org/acappella .
So save Saturday, January 30 and Sunday, January 31, 2010, for an evening and morning of wonderful music -- all to support very worthy causes. Our last three years' concerts were sell-outs and people found them a really fun night out.
