Three time Grammy Award winner and world renowned jazz drummer, Antonio Sanchez will take the stage at The Beehive on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 for a rare Boston performance with the Antonio Sanchez Trio. Joined by pianist Alain Mallet and bassist John Lockwood, don’t miss this unique opportunity to be up close and personal with these amazing musicians (usually only seen on a concert stage).

Born and raised in Mexico City, Antonio Sanchez began playing the drums at an early age. With a passion to take his skills to a different level, Sanchez enrolled at the Berklee College of Music and graduated Magna Cum Laude in Jazz Studies. Since his move to New York City in 1999, Antonio has become one of the most sought after drummers in the international jazz scene. He has performed and recorded with some of the biggest names in jazz including Pat Metheny, Chick Corea, Michael Brecker, Charlie Haden, Gary Burton and Toots Thielmans to name a few.
In 2007 Antonio Sanchez recorded his first solo effort entitled 'Migration.” Featuring some of the most renowned jazz musicians such as Pat Metheny, Chick Corea, Chris Potter, David Sanchez and Scott Colley, the album has gotten rave reviews from all over the world. All About Jazz calls it 'One of the best debuts of 2007.'
