Music is an important part of the American tradition. Every year, the musicians create a new program to illuminate the richness of that tradition.
Administrative Director Cheryl Kraley said 'This year we’re ranging father than ever – including contemporary movie music, Folk music, patriotic music, and music written just for handbells! We hope people appreciate the chance to reflect on America's musical tradition in a comfortable atmosphere.'
The concert venue is accessible; a suggested donation of $3.00 benefits Haitan Hospitals.
The program is timed to fit right between the road race (the finish line is in front of the church) and Paul Revere’s arrival at noon. In past years, musicians have finished the race and come right inside to perform!
The Hancock bell program is one of the most extensive in the Northeast. There are now seven groups for adults and children. In addition, ringers often form ensemble groups for special performances, weddings, and other special events. The groups play three sets of bells and two sets of hand chimes to produce a full, rich sound.
If you haven’t yet discovered this exciting musical genre, this is the perfect concert for young and old, handbell fan, or future fan!
