The Boston Civic Symphony, Max Hobart conductor, will open its 86th season with a family concert. There will be an instrument petting zoo for school-age children at 1:00pm.

The concert will feature 12-year old pianist Kadar Qian, winner of the 2010 James R. Powers Concerto Competition, and talented young musicians from Project STEP.

Former WBZ arts and entertainment reporter Joyce Kulhawik will narrate Daniel Pinkham's Make Way for Duckings - a musical adaptation of the award winning children's book.
