Agassiz at the Armory
Come one, come all (in costume!). Agassiz Cooperative Preschool celebrates its big move from Cambridge to Somerville with a raucous afternoon of live musical performances, face painting, stilt walking and other circus-style mayhem.
It all began four years ago: told the school needed to find a new facility, the Agassiz community set out on an improbable quest to build a new academic home for their 40 children. And they’ve done it – literally: board by board, hand in hand. Where once there was an old building on the top of a hill, now there is a shining new facility for kids in the Somerville/Cambridge area.
So come celebrate this modern-day-barn-raising “Agassiz style” as we release our benefit double CD “Working on a Building – Music From The Agassiz Community”
Hear live performances from top local musicians: Jeremy Lyons, Hugh Hanley, Dana Colley, Asa Brebner, Fred Griffeth, Linda Viens, Michael Romanyshyn, Mariachi Internacional, The Phantom Powers and Andrew Mazzone.
All sales benefit the Agassiz Preschool.
