Does your child want to play a musical instrument, but is unsure which one? We have the answer! At our Instrument Petting Zoos, children and adults are given the opportunity to listen to and play a wide range of instruments, including woodwinds, brass, strings, guitar, piano, drums and music technology. Join dance and early childhood music and movement program demonstrations and enjoy performances by our faculty.
Each year, nearly 400 parents and children of all ages enjoy trying out an assortment of musical instruments, including flute, clarinet, trumpet, saxophone, cello, viola, violin, guitar, xylophone, piano, drum, music technology and more!
Children puff their cheeks in anticipation of playing the wind instruments, while others try their hands at the strings or hammer on the drums and piano. Several instruments are often larger than the children, which dos not dissuade their curiosity or ability!
The Open House & Instrument Petting Zoo will take place at Brookline Music School’s Kennard House, 25 Kennard Road, Brookline, MA 02445 on Sunday. The Open House is FREE and all ages are welcome! For more information about this event visit www.bmsmusic.org or call BMS at (617) 277-4593.
