NEC faculty member and saxophonist Kenneth Radnofsky performs this evening at Jordan Hall. His guests include John McDonald on piano, Marco Granados on Flute, Diana Flores on cello, Juan Ruiz on the bombo leguero, Michal Schein and members of 'A Far Cry' and 'Discovery Ensemble' from Dialogue: JP's Chamber Music Project.
All of the music performed this evening is music of Spain and South America. These works include:
Jaime Fatas' Flamenco sin Limites, for solo saxophone. From Spain. *
Joaquin Turina's Op. 11 Trio, for alto saxophone, flute and piano ed. Radnofsky. From Spain.
Juan Ruiz's Lejanias, Avendia la Playa; Duos for alto saxophone and cello. From Colombia. *+
Cristain Yufra's Deseperacion, Amanecer, La Fresca, Huellas en el Camino, and Ayelen; for combinations of soprano saxophone, flute, bombo leguero and piano. From Argentina. *+
Heitor Villa-Lobos Bachianas Brasileras #1, Preludio (Modinha) arr. Jorge Hoyo; for soprano saxophone and string quartet. From Brazil. With Michal Schein and members of 'A Far Cry' and 'Discovery Ensemble.'
John McDonald's New Works composed for Marco Granados and Ken Radnofsky. *+
