The North Shore Jazz Project presents Roomful of Blues at the Ipswich Performing Arts Center.

After a long, cold winter it is time to jump and swing in spring. This concert is just the ticket!
Based out of Rhode Island, Roomful of Blues features Ipswich resident Mark Earley, an award winning baritone & tenor saxophonist.

Earley’s multi-talented daughter Lydia is a senior at the Ipswich High School who plays the violin in the orchestra and the flute in the band. There is a very special connection that brings a concert with Mark Earley and benefits Lydia.

Proceeds from this concert will benefit the NSJP and the Ipswich High School Music Department, as the students, including Lydia, prepare to go to England for musical performance/study abroad in April. This is also a testimony to the musical talent that continues to emerge from Ipswich.

Roomful of Blues features Phil Pemberton on vocals, Chris Vachon on guitar, From Beverly-John Turner on upright & electric bass, Travis Colby on piano, Ephraim Lowell on drums, Rich Lataille on alto sax, Mark Earley on baritone /tenor sax and Doug Woolverton on Trumpet. Put them together and get and as People magazine said Roomful’s music “can turn a dull night at home into a heel-clicking night of fun.”

This show coincides with the recent launch of Roomful of Blues new CD: Hook, Line & Sinker.
It is available at roomful.com and amazon.com.

Reviews read like these:

‘Roomful of Blues is eight guys who have the power of a full Big Band orchestra. They mix jump and jive with R&B, blues and rock and roll. They are one of America’s musical treasures. We have been lucky to have them so long and still have them today. Hook, Line & Sinker is a gem not to be missed.’-BLURT review of Roomful of Blues, Hook, Line & Sinker

“The eight-piece group's studio albums, now nearing 20, are usually high-voltage yet classy affairs that revive the past but aren't enslaved to it, and it's no different this time thanks to the tough, focused approaches of veteran guitarist Chris Vachon and horn-section leader Rich Lataille, particularly on Gates Walks To Board and Just a Little Love. — Jerry Shriver”-USA TODAY review of Roomful of Blues, Hook, Line & Sinker
