Keith Lockhart and the Tanglewood Festival Chorus Invite the Boston Community to Join them to Attempt to Break the Guinness World Record for the Most Carolers (9,100) in one Place, December 3, at Noon, on the Christian Science Plaza.

Guinness World Record Event Kicks off Prudential Center Celebration of the Holiday Pops Season, December 7-24 at Symphony Hall WROR's Wally Brine Hosts Event, Which will Also Feature Local Musical Groups in Pre-Caroling Entertainment.

Afterward at 12:45PM, in the Shops at the Prudential Center, meet Keith Lockhart at a CD signing and enjoy musical performances by Beantown Swing, the Boston Children's Chorus, the Beacon Brass Quintet, Project STEP, and others.

Boston Pops Conductor Keith Lockhart and the Tanglewood Festival Chorus invite members of the public to join them for what promises to be a very special event: a Holiday sing-along in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest group of carolers gathered in the same place at the same time-Saturday, December 3, at noon, outside on the Christian Science Plaza along Huntington Avenue between Massachusetts Avenue and Belvidere. The current record for the largest group of carolers is held by Adelaide, Australia, where a group of 9,100 participants sang carols during the annual Credit Union Christmas Pageant on November 15, 2010. In order to beat the record, more than 9,100 carolers must sing continuously for 15 minutes. This special Guinness World Record event kicks off a Prudential Center celebration of the Holiday Pops season at Symphony Hall, December 7-24.

Prior to the world record attempt with Keith Lockhart and the Tanglewood Festival Chorus, several local musical ensembles will be on hand to perform for the Guinness World Record attempt. WROR Radio's Wally Brine and Lauren Beckham Falcone from the Loren and Wally Show will host the festivities.

In 2010, the Pops made its first attempt to break the record, and while the attempt fell short, several thousand Bostonians came together for this try at Guinness World Record victory. The Pops will continue celebrating the season all afternoon at the Prudential Center, with special performances by the Beacon Brass Quintet, the Boston Children's Chorus, musicians from Project STEP, and Beantown Swing, as well as other special performances and events. The Shops at Prudential Center is owned and operated by Boston Properties. It is New England's top shopping and dining destination with 75 world-class retailers, 27 dining options, 3000+ parking spaces, and four top Boston attractions all under one roof. The Shops at Prudential Center is home to the Boston area's only Saks 5th Avenue and Vineyard Vines, the recently opened White House Black Market, and over 100 events every year.
