She is a graduate of the University of Michigan in flute performance and received her graduation certificate from the Talent Education Institute in Matsumoto, Japan where she studied with Toshio Takahashi. Her studio is currently in Needham, MA and she enjoys freelancing in the Boston area.
Facilitator for Flute Book 4, Laurel Ann Maurer, flute, has been recognized as “one of our outstanding and gifted flutists” by her principal teacher, Julius Baker. She began her Suzuki training in 1987 with Rebecca Paluzzi and also studied privately with Toshio Takahashi, founder of the Suzuki Flute Method. Ms. Maurer became a Suzuki Teacher Trainer in 2007. She has toured throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia, has recorded many CDs and has commissioned new flute works from many American composers. Laurel Ann also studied with Jeanne Baxtresser and Samuel Baron.
