Each year two string quartets, one from ProQuartet-CEMC and one from NEC, are selected to participate in a week-long residency abroad. These special residencies comprise mentorship, coaching, and rehearsal, and each culminates in a featured recital in Boston and France respectively.
Tonight’s concert featuring Quatuor Zaïde represents the fruit of this collaboration. In May, NEC’s Harlem Quartet, currently enrolled in NEC’s prestigious Professional String Quartet Training Program, will travel to ProQuartet’s academy in France for a parallel week of study and performance.
