About the Musicians

Pianist Joe Reid enjoys a busy music career, playing 100+ concerts a year throughout New England.

He can usually be heard performing jazz – from solo piano to big band – but he has also worked with various classical, klezmer, and R&B ensembles.

Joe has worked as an accompanist for the Boston Conservatory, the Longy School of Music and the New School of Music in Cambridge.

Joe has also worked as a pianist with dance troupes, such as the Mark Morris Dance Company and the Boston University Dance Department, as well as with theatre companies including the New England Light Opera, Mass Theatrica, Riverside Theatre, Stoneham Theatre, and the Revels.

Joe teaches piano and jazz improvisation at his home studio in Belmont and at the New School of Music in Cambridge.

Bassist Dave Zox has been performing and teaching throughout New England since 1980.

He has performed in concert with internationally renowned musicians, such as John Abercrombie, Garrison Fewell, Sheila Jordan, Jim McNeely, Kenny Werner, and Phil Woods.

Dave has also played with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, the Artie Shaw Band, and Herb Reed and the Platters.

He performs chamber music for the First Parish Church in Concord MA and appears regularly in the Boston area with pianists Ray Santisi, Harvey Diamond, and many others.

Dave earned a masters degree in Jazz Studies from New England Conservatory and has worked on the faculty at many Boston area schools, including Northeastern and the Longy School of Music.

Drummer Miki Matsuki was born in Matsuyama, Japan.

She moved to the United States to study jazz at the Berklee College of Music, where Miki’s band was selected as “Best of Berklee” in 2000.

Since graduating from Berklee, she has performed and recorded in various musical settings including soundtrack work, radio and television broadcasts, as well as a tour of Korea.

Miki has performed with many noted musicians including Wynton Marsalis, Joanne Brackeen, George Garzone, John Tchicai, Darren Barrett, Dave Bryant, Stan Strickland, and many others.

Matsuki received her M.M.

and G.P.D in Modern American Music Performance from the Longy School of Music with full scholarship.
