Intersection of the Arts: A Day of Map-Making, Music, Painting
and Woodworking at the Old Schwamb Mill.

Saturday, February 9th 11am-noon, “Making Maps that Matter” Art Workshop for adults and children ages 9-12, presented by artist Emily Garfield.

Art supplies provided.

Participants are encouraged to create maps that relate to personal history time lines as well as home, work, school or travel experiences.
12-12:30; Brown-bag lunch; beverages and dessert provided by the Mill; 12:30-1pm Guided tour of the Mill.

Maps Workshop admission: $5.

Limited to 15 participants.

2-3:30pm Concert by acoustic quintet ACOUSTICANA featuring bluegrass, Tex-Mex, folk, country, gospel, and Cajun music – it’s all here, tastefully performed by soul, blues, rock, pop, world music and other contemporary influences.
Admission: $5 for Old Schwamb Mill members and $10 for non-members.

3:30-4:30pm Reception for “Driven to Abstraction” an exhibition of Abstract and abstracted art featuring painters Emily Garfield, John Maciejowski, Ann Salk Rosenberg and Regina Valluzzi.

Exhibition runs through March 16.

The Old Schwamb Mill is an 1864 oval picture frame factory and living museum.

Open Tuesdays and Saturdays 11-3 for tours, gallery viewing, and purchase of our finely crafted oval frames.

Shopping is also available at the Shaker Workshops store in the mill’s barn: furniture, lamps, rugs, and many seasonal and unique gift items Mon-Sat 10-5
