The Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra (BCSO), featuring a trio of Grammy-winning guest musicians from the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, Danilo Perez, Joe Lovano, and John Patitucci, and acclaimed jazz drummer Adam Cruz, presents its spring concert on Wednesday, April 3, 8:00 pm, at New England Conservatory's Jordan Hall, 30 Gainsborough Street, Boston.

The concert is free and open to the public.

The first half of the concert will feature selections from Sergei Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet, Danzon No.

2 by Arturo Marquez, and Symphonic Poem No.

1 by Aaron Gage, a recent Berklee graduate and winner of the 2012 BCSO composition competition.

In the second half, Danilo Perez will join the BCSO to perform selections from his recording Across the Crystal Sea.

Perez, who was recently named UNESCO Artist For Peace, serves as artistic director of the Berklee Global Jazz Institute (BGJI) and the Panama Jazz Festival.

Master saxophonist Joe Lovano and his wife, vocalist Judi Silvano, will perform songs from his album Celebrating Sinatra.

Renowned jazz bassist John Patitucci will play his compositions 'Voyager' and 'Communion' with the group.

Adam Cruz, a New York based drummer known for his work with Perez, will join the ensemble on drums.

The concert also features saxophonist Marco Pignataro, BGJI managing director, and flutist Matt Marvuglio, dean of Berklee's professional performance division.

The Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra, an 80-piece ensemble directed by assistant professor Francisco Noya, is committed to performing great symphonic music of the past, present, and future.

Its repertoire includes original compositions by Berklee faculty and students, contemporary music from around the globe, film scores, video game music, and more.
