duets for violin and piano

Faculty Concert Series Continues April 4th 7:00 pm

The Concord Conservatory of Music is pleased to announce the next performance in its free Faculty Concert Series.

On Thursday April 4th at 7 p.m., CCM violin instructor Jenna L.

Potts will perform a selection of pieces by Mozart, Saint Saëns and Dvorak, accompanied by the pianist Fan Fan.

Jenna Potts studied at the Longy School of Music where she graduated with a Masters in Music in Violin Performance with an Emphasis in Pedagogy.

She has concertized numerous places in the United States; additionally, she has performed abroad in Hungary and Finland.

Ms. Potts performed the first movement of the Sibelius Violin Concerto with the Ukraine National Honored Academic Symphonic Orchestra of Ukraine as a participant in the International Summer Music Academy.

Jenna has taught extensively throughout the Midwest and Massachusetts.

In addition to her home studio, she currently holds faculty positions through the Concord Conservatory of Music, and the South Shore Conservatory

Pianist Fan Fan was born in Han Dan City, Hebei Province, China.

He began his formal study of piano at the age of five with Professor Zhou.

As a youngster, he studied at the Hebei Art School, enjoying the opportunity to play Chopin Ballades, Scriabin Sonatas, Beethoven Sonatas, and even the Rachmaninoff Concerto No.2!

After graduating from Hebei Art School, Mr. Fan attended the Central Conservatory of Music, the most renowned music conservatory in China.

During Mr.Fan`s four years of college study he won prizes in a series of piano competitions including the Heizman Piano Competition, the Institute Cup National Piano Competition, and the Toyama Asian Young Pianist Piano Competition.

In 2005, after winning several piano competitions, the China Record Corporation released a CD showcasing his achievements and talent.

All proceeds from this concert will benefit BLUME Haiti: a non-profit organization, which supports music schools in Haiti that develop leadership skills and create opportunities for civic collaboration for the Haitian youth through music education.

Providing this free concert series is part of CCM’s broader mission to deliver high quality music education to the community.

In addition to weekly private and group lessons, CCM strives to offer social settings for music education.

The concert series is made possible in part by the generous funding from Newbury Court in Concord, and the Concord Cultural Council.

CCM’s performance space is located at 1317 Main St.

in the West Concord Union Church.
