In this program, Ms. Sekino will be performing Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No.2 in C minor.
Making her debut at age 16 with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, she has appeared around the world as both a soloist and a chamber musician.
Yukiko is a graduate of Harvard University and the Juilliard School and has a doctoral degree from SUNY Stonybrook.
Ms. Sekino was awarded the Gold Medal in the 2006 International Russian Music Piano Competition and also won the 2011 Mu Phi Epsilon International Competition.
Currently, she is the Keyboard Area Head at UMass Lowell and is on the faculty of the New England Conservatory Preparatory School.
The orchestra, conducted by George Monseur, will also be performing Verdi’s Nabucco Overture and Mozart’s Symphony No.
