With a career cataloging over 40 years, singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Paul Brady is one of Ireland's most highly regarded and successful artists.

He crosses musical boundaries again and again, incorporating folk, rock, blues traditional Irish, and classic pop styles into his songwriting.

Often classified as a musicians' musician, Brady's songs have been covered by such renowned artists like Bonnie Raitt, Tina Turner, Joe Cocker and Carlos Santana, Maura O'Connell, Brookes and Dunne, and even Cher.

Born and raised in Northern Ireland, Brady was influenced by a wide variety of music from an early age from traditional Irish music to swing, jazz, 50′s rock ‘n roll, Motown, and blues.

In Dublin, the 60′s saw the renewal in Irish traditional music and gave birth to the first wave of Irish ballad groups like The Clancy Brothers, The Dubliners, Sweeney’s Men and The Johnstons.

Paul was a member of The Johnstons and recorded seven albums during his time with them.

In the late 1970’s, he went solo and his solo folk CD Welcome Here Kind Stranger won the Melody Maker Folk Album of the Year.

Following this success, he released Hard Station in the early 80’s that launched him as an Irish rock artist.

He has since released numerous CDs and is highly regarded as the finest Irish singer-songwriter of his generation.

In 2002 Brady received the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Irish Music Awards.

In 2010, Brady released his fourteenth solo album Hooba Dooba to widespread acclaim.

“His resonant tenor was an instrument of earthy character with a touch of grit trimming its edges, a source of full-bodied tone that complemented the acoustic guitar pulse he used to propel the firm folk of his opener… his voice was a strong vessel for thoughtful lyrics, etching sturdy soul into its steady pulse.” Thomas Kintner, Special to the Courant

“Irish folk star Brady, a songwriter’s songwriter… delivered a jaw-dropping opening set on solo acoustic guitar and piano that is sure to send aspiring lyricists in a mad dash to buy as many of his records as possible.

…brilliant beyond Bob Dylan...” San Antonio Express
