Are you in the mood to listen to some fun music and hear some great stories? Folk storyteller and musician Tim Van Egmond will entertain visitors at The Discovery Museums with a family concert on October 15, at 2 pm. The concert is free with Museum admission.

This event promises to be a wonderful afternoon of fun and music, in celebration of The Discovery Museums 24th anniversary.

Tim Van Egmond has been delighting audiences throughout the country since 1978. He has performed at hundreds of schools, libraries, and community centers, various folk festivals, and as a member of the contra dance band Swallowtail. He has also appeared on a number of television and radio programs, including National Public Radio’s “A Prairie Home Companion.”

At The Discovery Museums, Tim Van Egmond's concert 'Hearing Nature's Voice' will weave together tales and songs about living in harmony with Mother Earth. Van Egmond will accompany himself on a variety of traditional instruments, including hammered dulcimer, mountain dulcimer, conga drum, and limberjack (a dancing wooden puppet that taps out a rhythm on a paddleboard). Renowned author and storyteller Jane Yolen has said of him, 'Tim is a triple treat. He can sing, he can play a variety of wonderful instruments, and he can tell whopping good tales!' Come and join us for what will be a great family event!
