A constant thread in Tom’s playing is his ability to find new ways to interpret familiar songs.
His continually expanding repertoire is partly due to his immersion in the world of public performance.
He has fans, clients, and students to thank for shaping much of what he chooses to play.
Tom is a graduate of Berklee College of Music in composition and arranging and is an active guitar instructor.
He teaches all styles of guitar to all ages and levels.
Private studies with Charles Benarcous, Hal Crook, Michael Gibbs, Jerry Bergonzi, Mick Goodrick, Sal Salvador, and Jon Damien among others.
Tom has studied Flamenco guitar with legendary guitarist Miguel Guitenez (Madrid, Spain).
Additional accolades include : Tenor soloist (vocal) with Boston based Opera-Un-Met.
He has acted on Boston stage in the role of “the Doctor” in Chekov’s Uncle Vanna, “Thisby” in Shakespeare’s Midsummer Nights Dream, “Prosecutor/Boo Radley” in To Kill a Mockingbird among others.
Tom also volunteers his spare time and plays for Hospice at Longwood Medical Center.

The New School of Music is located at 25 Lowell St, Cambridge MA. Our building is near Brattle Street and the Mt. Auburn Hospital. The school can be reached by public transportation (MBTA Red Line, Bus 71, and Bus 73) from Harvard Square, Watertown, Boston, and Belmont. Free parking is available for students and event attendees in the parking lot adjacent to our building, space is limited. Overflow parking is available at Mt. Auburn Hospital parking garage and metered parking is available on Mt. Auburn St., Monday through Saturday. On-street parking for non-Cambridge residents is allowed on Sundays.
