Tom Pendergast is well versed in jazz, light classical, flamenco, pop/rock, alternative/indie rock, and more.

A constant thread in Tom’s playing is his ability to find new ways to interpret familiar songs.

His continually expanding repertoire is partly due to his immersion in the world of public performance.

He has fans, clients, and students to thank for shaping much of what he chooses to play.

Tom is a graduate of Berklee College of Music in composition and arranging and is an active guitar instructor.

He teaches all styles of guitar to all ages and levels.

Private studies with Charles Benarcous, Hal Crook, Michael Gibbs, Jerry Bergonzi, Mick Goodrick, Sal Salvador, and Jon Damien among others.

Tom has studied Flamenco guitar with legendary guitarist Miguel Guitenez (Madrid, Spain).

Additional accolades include : Tenor soloist (vocal) with Boston based Opera-Un-Met.

He has acted on Boston stage in the role of “the Doctor” in Chekov’s Uncle Vanna, “Thisby” in Shakespeare’s Midsummer Nights Dream, “Prosecutor/Boo Radley” in To Kill a Mockingbird among others.

Tom also volunteers his spare time and plays for Hospice at Longwood Medical Center.

For more information on Tom, visit his Facebook page or listen to his music at SoundCloud.

'Whenever I play the guitar I try to connect emotionally with the song I'm playing and try to infuse it with a sense of joy and musical depth.

The acquiring of that musical depth has been a lifelong passion which is still continuing.'
