Alastair, his band, and special guests the Fayerweather Street School Chorus will play Christmas and Hanukkah favorites along with standards from Moock’s family music repertoire.
A longtime member of the Boston folk scene, Alastair Moock turned his attention to family music after the birth of his twin daughters in 2006.
His latest album, 'Singing Our Way Through: Songs for the World’s Bravest Kids' won Gold Medal Awards from both the Parents' Choice Foundation and NAPPA, was named a Best Kids' Album Pick by People Magazine, and was voted the #3 Album of the Year by the Fids and Kamily music industry poll.
The Boston Globe calls him 'a Tom Waits for your tots' and Time Out New York calls him 'a musical descendant of Woody Guthrie [who] refreshes the classic brand of acoustic folk with a zany sense of humor.'
This is the fourth year in a row that Alastair will be joined in concert by the chorus of Cambridge’s Fayerweather Street School, where he once worked as an afterschool and guitar teacher.
The chorus of 20 or so young singers adds a special dimension to Moock’s shows, which are always rowdy, rootsy, singin’ and dancing’ fun for the whole family!
