LiveARTS Concert Series is proud to present their first season’s concert on January 7th at 3:30 p.m. featuring the vibrant New Piano Quartet, featuring violinist Jennifer Schiller, violist Andra Voldins, cellist Judith Glixon and pianist Esther Ning Yau.

The New Piano Quartet is the designated Ensemble-in-Residence at the New School of Music in Cambridge. They will present a fascinating program including piano quartets from the works of Johann Ladislaus Dussek and Gordon Jacob, with the lovely g minor piano quartet of Gabriel Faure as the concert’s centerpiece. This talented piano quartet repertoire introduces audiences to the works of contemporary and women composers. Their programming is always fresh, always interesting, always satisfying. performing the first three of Bach’s suites for unaccompanied cello,

Location
All LiveArts Sunday concerts are held in the acoustically excellent Meetinghouse of the First Universalist Society in Franklin, 262 Chestnut St. (I-495 to Exit 16 King St. to Chestnut Street, Franklin).

Cost
Tickets are sold at the door and are $15 for adults, $10 youth/seniors, and $25 for a family group. Doors open at 3:00p. The Meetinghouse is handicap accessible and is a smoke-free environment.

More About the Artists:
Violinist Jennifer Schiller completed her musical preparation at Indiana University and the Eastman Conservatory. She performs regularly with the exciting Boston Modern Orchestra Project, the Handel and Haydn Society and several regional orchestras. She is on the faculty of the New School of Music in Cambridge and has been a chamber music coach at the Longy School.

Violist Andra Voldins holds music degrees from Harvard and Boston University. She is not only a member of the faculties of the New School of Music, the Solomon Schechter School, the Noble and Greenough School, and the Milton Schools, she is also a regular performer in many groups, including Boston Lyric Ensemble, New England String Ensemble, and the Boston Ballet.

Cellist Judith Glixon studied with Paul Olefsky and David Wells at the Hartt School and with Aldo Parisot at Yale. She has coached with members of the Pro Arte and Emerson quartets. She performed regularly in regional orchestras in North Carolina and Arizona before coming to Massachusetts where she is now on the faculty of the New School of Music and freelances with Boston Ballet, the Handel & Haydn Society, New England String Ensemble, Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra and other regional symphony and opera orchestras.

Pianist Esther Ning Yau’s degrees are from New England Conservatory. A native of Hong Kong, she began her studies in the Far East, and has had fellowships in Italy, at Aspen, in California and Vermont. An avid chamber musician, she has been the founding member of several chamber groups on the Boston musical scene, including the New Piano Quartet, the Dahlia Trio, and Duo Anime. She is currently on the faculties of the New School of Music and the Longy School, and is staff accompanist at the Boston Conservatory.
