WHAT IS T1D: T1D is an autoimmune disease that occurs when the body’s immune system attacks and destroys the beta cells in the pancreas, which produce insulin, a hormone essential to turning food into energy.
T1D strikes both children and adults and is unrelated to diet or lifestyle.
It is a life altering disease that impacts millions of people, requiring 24/7 blood sugar testing, carbohydrate counting, and insulin injections.
COST: $10 per person if purchase online.
