Desolation and the danger of isolation give way to reconciliation and finally exuberance in community.
This concert features a large orchestra for Copland’s beloved Appalachian Spring and new arrangements of JPP’s spectacular Finnish fiddling.
A Far Cry stands at the forefront of an exciting new generation in classical music.
By expanding the boundaries of orchestral repertoire and experimenting with the ways music is prepared, performed, and experienced, A Far Cry has been embraced throughout the world with more than two hundred performances, three albums, a powerful presence on the internet, and a European debut tour in 2012.
The Criers maintain strong roots in Boston, rehearsing at their storefront music center in Jamaica Plain and serving as Chamber Orchestra in Residence at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.
Don Carlo Gesualdo: Moro Lasso, arr. AFC
Bernard Hermann: Suite from Psycho
Aaron Copland: Suite from Appalachian Spring
