Self-produced and recorded in their living room, their music inspires comparisons to both contemporary and classic artists while still sounding completely their own.
Adam, Jack, and Ryan grew up in New York and started performing together in 2007.
They have since been inspired by the creativity and individuality that their city brings.
AJR developed its performance style by busking in the parks of New York and from there the band performed at a variety of festivals and theaters, including Lincoln Center and the Bitter End.
Most recently, AJR has toured with the Wanted, Demi Lovato, and Hoodie Allen.
After making their mark on the Providence rock scene with The Valar, drummer Luke Imbusch and singer/keyboardist Brian McLaughlin decided to take their unmistakable sound with them to Boston, where they teamed up with bassist Jeremy Cohen and guitarist Peter Stone.
As the Rare Occasions, these four intertwine well-crafted songwriting with an unapologetically bold sense of musicianship.
They have self-recorded and self-produced a six-track demo and a five-track EP, won the Tufts University Battle of the Bands, opened for Guster and Lupe Fiasco at the Tufts Spring Fling, played live on the radio, released a music video, competed in WBRU's annual Rock Hunt, and performed at venues across New England.
The group looks to connect with listeners and musicians alike through their unique sound.
