The Merrimack Valley Philharmonic Orchestra is pleased to feature piano soloists, sisters Keiko and Yukiko Sekino, during this special upcoming May 4th concert.

They will be performing the Mendelssohn Double Piano Concerto No.2 in A flat Major as a premiere performance in North America.
Yukiko Sekino made her debut with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at age sixteen.

She has been invited to Tanglewood, Kneisel Hall, Music Academy of the West, and Thy (Denmark) festivals, as well as other worldwide venues.
A graduate of Harvard University and the Juilliard School, she holds a doctoral degree from State University of New York at Stony Brook.

She is currently an Affiliate Artist at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and teaches piano at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School.
Keiko Sekino has recently performed at Carnegie Weill Recital Hall, Steinway Hall, Bennett-Gordon Hall at Ravinia Park, and Palacio de Festivales de Cantabria in Santander, Spain.

From 2004 to 2006, she served as pianist for the Tanglewood Festival Chorus of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, working with conductors John Oliver, James Levine and Keith Lockhart.Keiko completed a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the Peabody Conservatory of John Hopkins University and holds additional degrees from Yale University in economic and music.

She serves as Associate Professor of Piano and Director of Applied Piano Studies at the East Carolina University School of Music.

The orchestra, under the direction of George Monseur, will also be performing two other Sibelius works at this concert: Fruhlingslied, Op.
16 (Spring Song) and Symphony No.5 in E flat Major, Op 82.
