The Middlesex Concert Band is excited to once again present a free concert to introduce area children to the sounds and instruments of a concert band—perfect for 4- to 9-year-olds, but open to everyone.

The unique format of this concert, presented in the gym of the Americal Civic Center in Wakefield, lets kids get up close to the band and to touch and try the instruments at the “petting zoo” following the performance.

The highlight of this year’s concert is a special storytelling segment featuring a narration of Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf” by Ernie Stevens.

Other pieces include Percy Grainger’s “Children’s March,” Leroy Anderson’s “Sandpaper Ballet,” and—sure to be recognized by every child (and parent)—music from “Frozen.”
