Newton Cultural Center at City Hall, 1000 Commonwealth Avenue Dedicated to the Memory of Ronald Knudsen, Music Director and Conductor of the New Philharmonia Orchestra With featured performers: Dr. Vera Rubin – violin; Professor Daniel Stepner – violin; Professor Mark Berger – viola; Professor Markus Placci – violin; Esther Ning - piano; and the winners of the Roman Totenberg Young Strings Competition – Austin & Kaley Kwuon, Hana Delegorete and Tristan Flores.
With music by Brahms, Sarasate, Saint-Saens, Wieniawsky, Martinu and Franck and a reception catered by Whole Foods Market.
The Roman Totenberg Memorial Concert is a program of the Festival of the Arts - a month long, citywide celebration and showcase of Newton’s talented citizens and organizations.
Proceeds from the Festival will help support Newton’s four food pantries, nonprofit arts and cultural organizations as well as cultivating Newton’s young artists.
