Family Fun Nights are back! The Discovery Museums are pleased to announce that we will once again be opening the doors of The Discovery Museums on special Friday evenings for families and friends who might not be able to attend our regular hours.

With our special theme of Earth Day, the evening will feature a presentation by Abitibi Paper Retriever representative on paper recycling. Bring something from home to recycle and we’ll build a sculpture with it at the Children’s Discovery Museum.

The highlight of the evening will be performances by Brazilian musician Ricardo Frota. Ricardo offers a variety of traditional and contemporary rhythms and songs from Brazil and the Amazon region. A seasoned multi-instrumentalist, Frota's performance revolves around his unorthodox and playful use of traditional and invented rhythm instruments, featuring the combined with the use of his voice as an additional rhythm instrument, to create new dimensions in sound making.

Museum admission is $8 per person to visit one museum and $12 per person to visit both museums, children under 12 months are free.
