The concert by Coro Allegro and guest artists, Boston City Singers and the Toronto Children’s Chorus, features Howard Frazin’s The Voice of Isaac, a retelling of the Biblical Abraham and Isaac story from Isaac’s perspective.
The voices of children silenced by war and abuse sing forth in both Frazin’s work and Voices of Terezin, Aaron Rosenthal’s settings of poems by children imprisoned in the Nazi concentration camp during World War II.
Also on the program are psalm settings by Salamone Rossi, Patricia Van Ness and Srul Irving Glick as well as songs by Claude Debussy, Yair Rosenblum, and the Maori composer Wehi Whanua.
Be moved by the resonance of voices, children’s and adult’s, historic and contemporary, from around the world, coming together to sing of their longings for peace.
Tickets: $65, $56, $25, seniors 20% off, students $15.
