The evening will include special guest Vivien Goldman.
Goldman is a writer, educator, broadcaster, and post-punk musician.
A Londoner, she has lived in Paris and now resides in New York.
As a pioneering female emerging from the ferment of Britain's 1970s punky reggae party, she has taken her can-do attitude and insights to journalism, books, radio, television, university teaching, multimedia lecturing, museum panel moderating, the recording studio, and the stage.
The Berklee Bob Marley Ensemble, directed by associate professor Matt Jenson, is a 15-piece group of top students at the college who were accepted into Jenson’s class the Music and Life of Bob Marley.
Not only do these talented students play full arrangements of Marley's music, they also study Marley’s life in depth, developing a deeper understanding of the sociopolitical atmosphere from which Marley found inspiration for his work.
Students learn about music as social revolution, socialism, capitalism, and Rastafarian culture, and ultimately are pushed to take seriously what they are saying with their own music.
