Fauré’s Op.
120 is one of his final two compositions and is an unquestioned masterwork.
The Shostakovich Trio was written in the height of terror in 1944—just after the death of his dear friend Ivan Sollertinsky.
Introducing these two defining works is a song that has been adapted many times from its original movie score setting, one of Astor Piazzolla’s most well-known compositions, Oblivion.
