Beginning in January, CCM is offering a series of transformative series of Workshops that promise to engage and challenge all participants.
The CCM Workshop Series is open to the public, and we encourage non-CCM students of all ages to attend.
The workshop topics run the gamut from improvisation, composing, and even jodeling.
The Workshop Series is a component of the CCM Music Achievement Program (MAP) and helps students to become well-rounded musicians.
Each workshop goes far beyond the typical lesson and practice schedule by delving into theory and concepts that distinguish average musicians from true artists.
Even within the 50-minute workshops students will learn skills to help carry their musical endeavors for years to come.
The jodeling workshop is not just for those who felt particularly inspired by The Sound of Music, but rather any who love to sing!
On Saturday, January 20th from 10:00 – 11:30 am, when CCM faculty member Gabriela Martina leads Jodeling Songs from Switzerland, a workshop that teaches about Switzerland and its culture through jodeling from many different regions.
Gabriela grew up jodeling on the farm with her Swiss family and the songs she learned have a very profound and unique sound which require clean intonation to produce.
Learn how to develop the appropriate voice technique to achieve clean intonation, which is essential for jodeling but also important for all other styles of singing.
