The North End Music & Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) Opera Project presents Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Don Giovanni on Thursday, June 21st and Saturday, June 23rd in downtown Boston.
Entering their 7th season this year, this fully staged, professional opera production will be directed by Rebecca Miller and conducted by Dr. Tiffany Chang.
The opera will be sung in Italian with English surtitles.
Youth actors from NEMPAC’s educational program will also be featured.
About Don Giovanni:
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart based his masterpiece, Don Giovanni, on the legends of fictional libertine and serial seducer Don Juan.
Re-imagined as the infamous womanizer Don Giovanni, Mozart and his librettist Lorenzo Da Ponte created a predatory philanderer, consumed entirely by his own desires—leaving havoc in his wake.
This tragic comedy, performed by outstanding singers in the original Italian with orchestral accompaniment, and featuring NEMPAC students, is sure to enchant audiences with its magnificent score and timely story.
