A native of Westborough, Schachter composed his setting of Ralph Waldo Emerson’s poem as a dramatic complement to the Mozart Requiem.
Kevin Leong conducts the 70-voice Masterworks Chorale and a professional orchestra on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at 8:00 PM at Harvard University’s Sanders Theatre (45 Quincy Street) in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
The concert features a superb quartet of Boston-based soloists: soprano Susan Consoli, mezzo-soprano Roselin Osser, tenor Charles Blandy, and baritone Thomas Jones.
A pre-concert talk by Dr. Laura Stanfield Prichard precedes the concert at 7:30 PM.
Dr. Prichard is a regular pre-concert speaker and writer for the San Francisco and Chicago Symphonies and is the Principal Lecturer for Boston Baroque and Boston Opera Collaborative.
Tickets are $50, $35, and $20 and can be purchased online at www.masterworkschorale.org/concerts/tickets.
$5 Student Rush Tickets may be purchased 90 minutes prior to the performance, as available.
Ample free parking is available in the garage at 7 Felton Street, between Broadway and Cambridge Streets.
A Harvard Square restaurant is offering a dining special before and after the concert.
Those presenting a Masterworks Chorale concert ticket or Will Call Ticket Voucher to Grafton Street Pub and Grill will receive a complimentary dessert with the purchase of an entree.
