Fly to the moon with the first performance of the LiveARTS Sunday Concert Series on September 30, 3:30 p.m. featuring pianist and published poet Oni Buchanan. Buchanan will be performing such captivating works as Debussy’s “Clair de Lune” and the regal “Moonlight Sonata” by Beethoven, among other selections. All four LiveARTS concerts will be held at the Meetinghouse of the First Universalist Society of Franklin, 262 Chestnut Street.

A published poet, Oni brings creativity, vision, and artistry to the launch of the series. “Her playing is informed by a persuasively lyrical touch in the service of great poise and charm,” says Russell Sherman, Distinguished Artist in Residence, New England Conservatory.

“This ‘Moonlight Recital’ kicks off the fifth season of the LiveARTS Sunday Concert Series, and we are pleased to bring back Ms. Buchanan for our series launch,” said LiveARTS

Artistic Director Laura Clayton. “The moon is an ancient source of artistic inspiration, and area classical music lovers will enjoy a creative program featuring works like ‘Star Burning Blue’ by contemporary composer Kelly-Marie Murphy, as well as the beloved Nocturnes by Chopin, Barber, and Faure. Even if you are new to the classical music scene, this Moonlight Recital has something for everyone at price anyone can afford.”

Tickets at the door are $15 for adults, $10 for youth and seniors, $25 for couples/families. Season subscriptions are $45 adults, $30 youth and seniors, and $75 for couples/families.
