Through a benefit concert in Melrose, local performers and businesses are working together to raise money for Bread of Life, a Malden-based volunteer organization that provides food for the needy. Bread of Life offers meals and distributes food to hungry, homeless and isolated citizens in Malden, Melrose and other north suburban towns.

The “Helping Our Neighbors” concert, which runs from 7-10 p.m., features six area acoustic acts, four of which are from Melrose. There is also a special children’s show at 6:30 p.m.. This event will be held at the Church of the Nazarene in Melrose.

Admission to the children’s show at 6:30 is $6 per family. Those attending the children’s show are welcome to stay for the remainder of the evening.

In addition to ticket sales, local businesses are supporting the event through sponsorships and food donations. The entire proceeds from the event will be donated to Bread of Life.
